Why A Star Clippers Cruise Embodies Relaxation

26th July 2019

Aaaaand relax. That feeling you get when you finally arrive at your holiday destination and can completely unwind is like no other. With a Star Clippers cruise, this happens from the moment you step on board the ship. Whether you choose to take your seat in the bar, by the window in the Observation Lounge or in your beautifully appointed cabin, you know the holiday can begin.

And it doesn’t stop until you leave. Relaxation is at the top of your agenda, no matter where you go in the world. So, let’s look at just a few of the reasons why a sailing with us always encourages you to forget your worries and take it easy.

No Dress Code

Relaxed Dress Code

Some people love to dress up in their formalwear during a cruise, but just as many people find this tradition to be slightly restricting and outdated. That’s why, on board a Star Clippers ship, you’re free to wear what you like without the need to dress to impress. During the day, you’ll see a lot of our guests wearing shorts and t-shirts, as they make the most of the beautiful weather and the informal atmosphere on board.

Later in the evening, a buttoned shirt or simple dress are perfect options – casual elegance, as we like to call it. Without the need for black tie dress codes, we find the ambience is a lot less stuffy and much more welcoming. Plus, there’s more room in your case for extra swimwear choices.

Open-Seating Dining

Casual Dining

The relaxation experienced on your holiday will spread to mealtimes with the help of our open-seating policy. This means there are no rules as to where and with whom you can sit, allowing you to spend one evening on a table of two and the next on a larger table with other guests. The maître d' will seat you wherever you choose and you are free to vary this as much as you want throughout your cruise.

There is also just one sitting, which lasts from 7.30pm until 10pm. This allows you to come and go as you please and not have to worry about being ready for a particular sitting. So, make your way to the restaurant when you are hungry and not when you’re told.

Happy and Helpful Crew

Happy Crew

As we talked about in a recent blog post, the crew on board all of our ships are always happy to help and always have a smile on their faces. Their relaxed attitude to life on the open ocean is infectious are you’ll soon feel your shoulders loosening and your mind forgetting your daily troubles.

Whether they’re encouraging you to get involved in the daily activities, offering some advice for when you go ashore or simply serving up your favourite drink with some pleasant conversation, they will help you feel at home on deck.

No Need To Leave The Ship

Relaxing In The Nets

Sometimes, no matter how breathtaking your latest port of call is, you just don’t feel like getting off the ship. With Star Clippers, not only does this mean you can relax with a bit of sunbathing, but you also don’t have to miss out on experiencing the culture. We regularly invite local entertainers on board to give everyone a taste of music and dancing in different countries.

Staying on board the ship rather than exploring ashore will also give you a chance to take part in some of the activities offered by the crew or try your hand at the water sports we have available. Royal Clipper even has its own marina platform to make this easier than ever.
