The specialist tall-ship cruise line, which has been trading for over 30 years, has today revealed it is celebrating its most successful week compared to the same period in any preceding year.
Fay McCormack, General Manager of Star Clippers UK GSA, said:
‘We are all delighted with this news, and can feel the uncertainty and upheaval of the last few years fading further behind us. With more and more people seeking bucket-list experiences, we are seeing both returning passengers and new guests alike looking for the experiential, once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunities that our tall ships offer. We are also seeing more trends and booking patterns develop to help us understand how the rest of the year may project’
The Monaco-based cruise line, represented in the UK by Fred Olsen Travel, has also recognised a trend of more passengers booking the entire package element, rather than just the cruise-only section.
Fay added, ‘Consumer confidence is growing again, and whilst our 3 ships are consistently operating their planned cruises in Central America, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, as well as ocean crossings, knowing that their holidays are protected is vital in this current climate.’
Notes to editors:
Star Clippers is represented in the UK by General Sales Agent Fred Olsen Travel and any packages/offers are for UK passengers and trade.
Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest and tallest fully-crewed sailing vessels. The ships can drop anchor in smaller harbours and visit ports often untouched by larger cruise ships and providing guests with the amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht.
High standards of service are provided by an attentive crew and all three ships have expansive teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, a convivial Tropical Bar on deck and a comfortable piano bar and are large enough to offer first class accommodation and dining.
The two smaller ships, Star Flyer and Star Clipper take 166 guests each, with a crew of 74, while Royal Clipper carries 227 with a crew of 106.
