See the exhilarating Monaco Grand Prix with Star Clippers

27th April 2017

The 2017 Formula 1 Grand Prix season is well under way, with racers having already completed the Melbourne, Shanghai and Bahrain races. After three races, Sebastian Vettel currently dominates the Championship standings, with Lewis Hamilton just behind in second. This could all change, however, by the time the Monaco Grand Prix comes around.

This prestigious race is by far the most anticipated of the Formula One calendar, with spectators getting the chance to see racers zip through the streets of this glamourous part of the world. As well as being dubbed as one of the most luxurious areas of Europe, it is also highly-regarded for the exhilarating display it provides. Narrow streets, frequent changes in elevation, tight corners and a long tunnel accumulate to one of Formula One’s most demanding courses.

Monaco’s position on the coast offers an enviable location for the rich and famous to dock their yachts and you will be able to nestle amongst them with Star Clippers. The spectacular five-masted Royal Clipper will operate a series of sailings to Monaco throughout May, June and later in the autumn; but there are two itineraries that you will not want to miss.

With the race itself in pencilled in for the 28th May and the trials due to take place a few days before this, on the 25th May, Star Clippers will be able to take you directly to the heart of the action. Both itineraries will combine this exhilarating event with the glitz and glamour of the French Riviera, enabling you to soak up the sun in a number of stunning destinations.

The first seven-night itinerary departs on the 20th May from Cannes, taking passengers to the Italian island of Elba and the French island of Corsica before arriving into Monaco on the 25th May for the Monaco Grand Prix trials. After seeing some of the best drivers in the world zip through the city streets, you will appreciate the peace and quiet of St Tropez before returning to Cannes.

The main event, however, can be enjoyed on board the seven-night sailing out of Cannes on the 27th May. After soaking up the sun in Cannes, you will be able to enjoy the thrill of the Monaco Grand Prix - on the 28th May – a bucket list item for many people around the world. Rub shoulders with the rich and famous as you arrive to watch this racing extravaganza. The price of the fare also includes stall tickets for the Grand Prix, making this the ultimate Formula 1 and cruise package. Following the race, you will also be able to enjoy a few days of calm in Italy and the islands of Corsica, Sardinia and Porquerolles before returning to Cannes.

With just one month to go until the engines pull up to the starting grid, there is no better time to consider witnessing this spectacular event. Star Clippers takes the hassle out of travelling by road, enabling you to nestle amongst the yachts and climb ashore directly within Monaco.
